Khushwant Singh, a true blueblood Dilliwalah, has a sutradhar (narrator) who loves a eunuch and perhaps loves Delhi as much. We are taken around the city meeting folks by this narrator, as if in a time machine.
One gets a glimpse in to the lives and times of people who ave played their part in making Delhi what it is. A fast paced book – it is impossible to put this one down till you are done.
What a wonderful summary of *Delhi: A Novel*! I particularly enjoyed your mention of the “true blueblood Dilliwalah” and the sutradhar’s unique love for both a eunuch and the city itself. It perfectly captures the essence of Singh’s narrative style and his deep connection to Delhi.
