Delhi has been talking about Pavan K Varma’s latest book The Greatest Ode to Lord Ram – Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas. It is a book in which Varma claims that “Tulsidas single-handedly made Ram—the subject of his devotional ardour—the greatest object of personal veneration in the popular mindset.”
Varma identifies the best verses from Tulsidas’s original basis the elegance of the poetry and puts these up here with some wonderful explanations.
Varma highlights the skill with which Tulsidas uses various characters to communicate his own philosophies.
